Abstract
Plats Hus Människa: En berättelse (Place House Person: A story) is a master thesis in architecture that describes a project from start to near completion in full scale. Since my personal relation to the site is strong, my point of departure is the phenomenological architecture. This architectural movement emphasizes the importance of place. The work is presented in three different parts. The first one is an introduction in the form of a theoretical essay based on the works of Christian Norberg-Schultz, Peter Zumthor, Juhani Pallasmaa, Sverre Fehn and their relation to the philosopher Martin Heidegger.
The second part is an investigation of... (More)

The work is presented in three different parts. The first one is an introduction in the form of a theoretical essay based on the works of Christian Norberg-Schultz, Peter Zumthor, Juhani Pallasmaa, Sverre Fehn and their relation to the philosopher Martin Heidegger.
The second part is an investigation of place, mainly by texts illustrated with photos and drawings. The last part is my design.

The aim of this work is to investigate how an existing relation to a site can generate a new design with the help of stories of place used as a creative tool. (Less)
