Having conducted participant observation in the local skateparks I have found that class background, gender identity and heterosexuality are cornerstones in the skateculture of Lund. In this thesis I describe the atmosphere using data consisting of previous research, statistics and above all my informants statements. I conclude that the male bias is reality and that subcultural aswell as social capital matters in the skateculture of Lund. Further, I propose that we reallocate the responsibility to change, which is now on the girls, to include the boys on our quest to equalize male dominance. (Less)
