Abstract
The aim of this study was to explore how Swedish care managers in elderly care experience the assistance assessment of late-in-life immigrants and their cultural needs. The care managers all worked with clients above the age of 65 who migrated to Sweden late-in-life. The used method was a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. The result showed that even though the care managers at first didn’t seem to reflect over the cultural aspects of their clients who migrated to Sweden late in life, they later described some specific... The care managers also described challenges in their cross-cultural assistance assessment meetings and differences in family values and care due to cultural background. (Less)
