- Abstract
- This thesis aims to evaluate the fire safety in special accommodations in Sweden. A survey was carried out along with interviews involving the regular staff of the special accommodations. It was found that special accommodations for the elderly suffering from dementia have the lowest share of personnel during the night that can help with evacuation in relation to individuals in need of physical help during some part of the evacuation. It was also found that the participants of the survey and interviews judged their own capabilities and knowledge regarding fire safety as slightly above 80 % on a scale between very unsure and very sure.
