- Abstract
- This report issues traffic safety on a delimited route of Kristian II:s väg and Margretetorpsvägen in Ängelholm, mainly from a speed perspective. The speed of motor vehicles has a very big impact on the collision violence caused by an accident primarily between motor vehicles and unprotected road users. Speed measurements have been made along the route to get an idea of the speed. The high-speed variation on the route is believed to occur due to the wide road. Road safety on the route is of the utmost importance as it is a thoroughfare while at the same time it is in direct connection with school activities. - This report issues traffic safety on a delimited route of Kristian II:s väg and Margretetorpsvägen in Ängelholm, mainly from a speed perspective. The speed of motor vehicles has a very big impact on the collision violence caused by an accident primarily between motor vehicles and unprotected road users. Speed measurements have been made along the route to get an idea of the speed. The high-speed variation on the route is believed to occur due to the wide road. Road safety on the route is of the utmost importance as it is a thoroughfare while at the same time it is in direct connection with school activities. According to the traffic plan in Ängelholm municipality, you want to build a traffic system that contributes to an attractive and sustainable development, allowing for a life without a car. The basic task of the traffic system is to create accessibility, i.e. enable people to reach their destinations. This must be possible in a safe and secure manner. Today’s design with bicycle fields along the road does not contribute to a road-safe route for cyclists. This in combination with high and uneven speeds of drivers, reduces the accessibility and road safety of cyclists. The report describes problems with today's design and comes with action proposals and a pre-projection of the distance in CAD. (Less)
