Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate noise at recycling stations and the effect of shields in noise reduction, this was done through sound level measurements and interviews. The sounds level measurements took place at five recycling stations, at one recycling station while containers where emptied and at four recycling stations with different shield methods while recycling glass. Sound levels made by the surroundings were also measured. In the sound level measurement both equivalent and maximum sound levels were measured. The results from both the sounds level measurements and the interviews showed that the sound levels from when the containers were emptied were significantly higher than the other. The sound levels measured from when containers were emptied and from recycling of glass was however much higher than the benchmarks set by the Swedish environmental protection agency. The results also showed that higher levels were measured while recycling at recycling stations without vegetation or noise reduction barriers, proving shields surrounding recycling stations to be effective. The noise levels from the surroundings were also proven to be very high and able to affect the results. (Less)

Däremot överskred ljudnivåerna från både tömningen och glasinsamlingen Naturvårdverkets riktvärden. Vid glasinsamling var både bullerplank och buskage bullerreducerande eftersom högre ljudnivåer uppmättes vid glasinsamling utan avskärmning.
