- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to put focus at the most relevant areas of a business model for power distribution to real estates in a context of technology, electricity market and customer input. By taking a closer look at new energy technology and the electricity market in Sweden – complemented with insights from a number of interviews with potential customers in the form of real estate companies – a few specific areas of a future business model, where the three factors will make an impact, is located.
Bases on Ash Maurya's model Lean Canvas, this study raises a number of areas that are of great importance for a company to focus on while developing a business model for electricity distribution to real estates. Creating a unique value proposition and to apply a suitable charging model are the two areas that are shown to have the greatest impact of technology, electricity market and customers. The results of the study is intended to serve as a good basis for business model development, primarily for companies that recently established on the Swedish electricity market, either in the form of a power trading company or energy service company.
