Abstract
This thesis examines factors of housing in Sweden based on two questions, what impact the land use in a municipality has as well as the political majority. In order to characterize and categorize municipalities with similar land use, a cluster analysis is applied. By using a one-sided ANOVA, it is shown that there is no difference in housing between the clusters. Furthermore, the land use that affects housing is investigated by applying a multiple regression model. A logarithmical model with construction of housing as the dependent variable and productive woodland, built-up area, and golfing courses and ski slopes is significant. This thesis examines factors of housing in Sweden based on two questions, what impact the land use in a municipality has as well as the political majority. In order to characterize and categorize municipalities with similar land use, a cluster analysis is applied. By using a one-sided ANOVA, it is shown that there is no difference in housing between the clusters. Furthermore, the land use that affects housing is investigated by applying a multiple regression model. A logarithmical model with construction of housing as the dependent variable and productive woodland, built-up area, and golfing courses and ski slopes is significant. The type of land that affects the model most is built-up area and has a positive relationship with construction of housing, which the relationship for golf courses and ski slopes also is. Productive woodland on the other hand has a negative relationship with the dependent variable.
Then it's investigated if there's a relation between housing and what political majority that rules in the municipality. The municipalities are divided by political majorities. Then one-sided ANOVAs is applied to test if there's any significant difference between these groups. The results show that the municipalities where right-wing parties rule construct more housing. For the different forms of tenure, it is shown that right-wing ruled municipalities build more ownership housing than the other majorities. The right-wing municipalities also build more tenant-ownership than left-wing ruled municipalities. However, there is no difference between cooperative tenancy. The result of the analysis on forms of tenure is uncertain due to all of the assumptions for one-sided ANOVA are not fulfilled. (Less)

Uppsatsens andra frågeställning undersöker hur det politiska styret i en kommun påverkar bostadsbyggandet. Kommuner indelas efter politisk majoritet vid makten. Ensidiga variansanalyser tillämpas för att testa om det finns signifikanta skillnader mellan de olika styrena. Resultatet visar att högerstyrda kommuner i större utsträckning färdigställer bostäder. För de olika upplåtelseformerna visar resultatet att högerstyrda kommuner färdigställer fler äganderätter än övriga politiska majoriteter. Högerstyrda kommuner färdigställer fler bostadsrätter än vänsterstyrda. Däremot finns ingen skillnad mellan de olika politiska styrena för hyresrätter. Resultatet av undersökningen kring de olika upplåtelseformerna är dock osäkert då samtliga antaganden för ensidig variansanalys ej är uppfyllda. (Less)
