Open Air Theatre - Cultivation of land not yet urbanized
(2018) AAHM01 20172Department of Architecture and Built Environment
- Abstract
- The Crevice - A theater in the open air on the coast of Portugal strives to prove a link between man made
and natural formations.
I marvel why the development of our human civilization keeps being branded as artificial with a negative connotation. I believe our built habitat is commonly considered somewhat less natural than bird’s neatly constructed nests or polar bears burrowing into snow and rock mass.
In this project, which I call The Crevice, I search for architecture which supports a belief in our undeniable belonging to Mother Nature.
