In his studies he suggests that there is a correlation between the amount of social capital in a state and the strength of its institutions, and as a consequence of this finding he has made way for further studies on the subject.
Based upon the theories of this correlation we set forth to study a relation that is similar in one sense, but dissimilar in others, namely the relation between social capital and the strength of the judicial review in Sweden.
Through our comparative, quantitative study on the subject we came to the conclusion that we found no clear correlation between our variables at the scale that the study was made. But we firmly believe that there is more to be learnt on the subject and thus see our study as a first step at attempting to understand a relation that is yet to be shed light upon. (Less)
