Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to evaluate the effect of a short-term family treatment regarding changes in the family's emotional climate and changes in the symptoms of the child. The work was based on the questions: How does family members experience the family's emotional climate? Does the child experience a decrease in symptoms? Do the parents experience a decrease in the symptoms of the child? Twelve families who were in contact with BUP The First Line in Lund participated in a structured brief family treatment (KFB) in three sessions. Pre- and post-measurement were performed using the Self-Assessment Form Family Climate and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). At family level, a significant difference and good effect size,... (More)

The work was based on the questions: How does family members experience the family's emotional climate? Does the child experience a decrease in symptoms? Twelve families who were in contact with BUP The First Line in Lund participated in a structured brief family treatment (KFB) in three sessions. Pre- and post-measurement were performed using the Self-Assessment Form Family Climate and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). At family level, a significant difference and good effect size, between pre and post measurement. The families described increased proximity, less distance, less spontaneity and less chaos after the treatment's three sessions. Reduced symptoms were noted both in terms of internalized and externalized symptoms. Generally, the parents felt that they had received help in the meantime at the clinic and that the contact at the clinic had made it easier to live with the problems while the children were slightly more moderate in their answers. Can the results presented in this study be replicated, there are good reasons to offer both short-term and family interventions in First Line clinics. (Less)
