- Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vad sociala nätverk, sociala relationer och ideella föreningar har för betydelse för ensamkommande unga från Afghanistan. Utifrån de fem semistrukturerade intervjuerna jag genomfört, kommer uppsatsen undersöka betydelsen av sociala nätverk för informanterna och hur olika sociala nätverk påverkar dennes sociala kapital. Materialet analyseras utifrån Pierre Bourdieus och Robert D. Putnams teorier om hur sociala nätverk påverkar individen eller gruppen till att skapa ett ökat socialt kapital. Analysens resultat visar att de ensamkommande unga jag intervjuat, upplever svårigheter att inkluderas i majoritetssamhället på grund av samhälleliga strukturer, och språk-och kulturskillnader. Detta har inverkan på vilka sociala nätverk informanterna har tillgång till och deras möjligheterna att öka sitt sociala kapital. Resultatet uppvisar också betydelsen av ideella föreningar för informanterna, som att känna tillhörighet, att bli lyssnad till och att dessa möjliggör för ett aktivt deltagande inom föreningslivet. Sociala nätverk och ideella föreningar har en central roll för informanterna, till att skapa nya kontakter och bygga relationer mellan samhällsgrupper. Som i sin tur leder till en möjlighet för informanternas att öka sitt sociala kapital. Slutligen, belyser uppsatsen att sociala nätverk är viktiga för informanterna som kommit till Sverige ensamma. - The aim of this thesis is to understand what social networks, social relations and non-profit associations are of importance to unaccompanied minors from Afghanistan. Five unaccompanied minors were interviewed to be able to investigate the importance of social networks.
