Sustainable occupations and health in a life course perspective
- Abstract (Swedish)
Resultatet från 11 artiklar analyserades utifrån en riktad innehållsanalys baserad på Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) och The Value and Meaning in Occupations (ValMO)-modellen. Resultat: Inga studier... (More)

Resultatet från 11 artiklar analyserades utifrån en riktad innehållsanalys baserad på Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) och The Value and Meaning in Occupations (ValMO)-modellen. (Less)
- Abstract
- Background: Shift work has a negative impact on health, and sleep disorders and a lack of time for social activities are common. The occupational balance alongside occupational pattern can also be affected. Shift working nurses is one group that may be at risk. Aim: The aim of this literature review was therefore to explore how dynamics of the nurses’ occupational patterns as well as their sleep can be affected by shift work. Method: A literature review with a deductive approach. The result of 11 articles were analysed through a directed content analysis based on MOHO and ValMO-model. Results: No studies were performed by occupational therapists. Common consequences due to shift work were identified as work-family conflicts, mental illness... (More)

There was a limited amount of activities benefited from recovery identified. Conclusion: Recovery was an important aspect since it was often linked to sleep and not to meaningful occupations, socio-cultural aspects were also important in the result. Future studies should explore what occupational therapists can do to prevent ill-health. (Less)
