- Abstract
- The chest has been found amongst the few furnitures from a pre-historic time, and has played a very important role until about
hundred years ago. What if the chest could be brought back into a modern context?
My goal is to postpone product replacement by creating a certain degree of emotional attachment between the product and the
end-user. During this project I have focused on nostalgia and product personalisation as ways to achieve this.
I have been deeply inspired by the
characteristics of the chest during my initial research and explorations about historical chests. The findings I’ve made, has been
translated into a modern lifestyle, through
user tests.
