Abstract
Objective: The objective of this study was to examine drug-related experiences among social work students in Lund and Helsingborg and to examine if there is any connection between having experiences of this kind and opinions regarding having such experiences while working with people who are using drugs. Method: I used a quantitative method through a survey that was handed out to the students at the university during lectures. Theory: I used exposure theory to see connections between the students experiences and their opinions. This theory explains why exposure to something makes you act and think in a certain way when exposed to it again. Result: The majority of the students did have some sort of experience, not all of them through... (More)

This theory explains why exposure to something makes you act and think in a certain way when exposed to it again. Result: The majority of the students did have some sort of experience, not all of them through themselves, but instead through a relative. There were more respondents in the group who had the experience who thought that this kind of experience is a good thing to have when you are working with people who use drugs compared to those who had no experience of drugs.
