- Abstract
- Class analysis with a focus on class processes in everyday life has interested many ethnologists at 1970- and the 80’s. An interesting way to study this process is through the Swedish alcohol policy for its goal is to regulate alcohol consumption while granting buyers the freedom to buy.
The purpose of this essay is to study the connection between class processes and alcohol policy on Systembolaget and how it is presented and experienced.
I have -through observations, interviews and text material from Systembolaget- collected ethnological material that this research is based on. The aforementioned material is then analysed with help from Pierre Bourdieu's theories on fields and distinctions. The result shows that a certain taste and...
