Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The following study aimed to examine the potential difference within psychological empowerment between occupational groups at an international car company, in this study referred to as Bilföretaget AB. The study investigated potential differences between the groups and how these variances could be understood, by using a mixed methods research design including survey and semistructured interviews. Some significant differences appeared within the dimensions of empowerment between occupational groups of the organization. These differences were found between blue-collar and white-collar workers concerning perceived meaning, between managers and employees in perceived impact and between two workshop parts within perceived competence. Some significant differences appeared within the dimensions of empowerment between occupational groups of the organization. These differences were found between blue-collar and white-collar workers concerning perceived meaning, between managers and employees in perceived impact and between two workshop parts within perceived competence. The interviewed subjects described the differences as closely connected to uneven possibilities to gain support and access information. In conclusion, the results were discussed with outset from previous theories, including how these results can be applied on Bilföretaget AB, and inspire other organizations. (Less)
