Explaining conflicting views of what it means to live in today’s “Post-Washington Consensus” era and showcasing famous liberal ideas as well as looking into the trend of “Good Governance”, this research dives deep into the seldom researched Swedish perception of the WBG. Through interviews with seven Swedish officials, working for SIDA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance a conclusion can be drawn that Sweden perceives the WBG among other things as a changed institution, as something positive with liberal traits that provides good governance and with a growing emphasis on the financial sector.
