The material in question is a booklet published by the municipality of Malmö and MKB. Through the analysis, central tendencies were identified, and with the concepts in the analytical framework, the essay has found that the discourse presented mainly draw on two separate discourse: a discourse of democracy and a discourse of sustainability. To draw on these, the text must construct the citizens of the neighborhood in a specific way, as well as construct sustainability in its neoliberal understanding. The essay concludes that this is undemocratic and therefore problematic, because of the way other subject positions and perspectives are excluded. (Less)
