Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine if Compassion Mind Training (CMT) in group results in increased compassion to others, decreased prejudice, increased empathy, increased psychological flexibility and increased self-compassion. The developed CMT intervention focused mainly on training compassion to others. The effect of CMT on in-group identification was also explored. This study was a pilot in a larger research project focusing on interventions to prevent prejudice and discrimination in organizational contexts. The design was a matched, randomized controlled study with experiment- and control group and with pre- and post-measurements. There were 33 participants who completed the study. The control intervention consisted of a lecture... (More)

The design was a matched, randomized controlled study with experiment- and control group and with pre- and post-measurements. There were 33 participants who completed the study. The control intervention consisted of a lecture about prejudice and discrimination.
The result showed a significant increase in compassion to others, empathy and in-group identification for the experiment group compared to the control group. The result also showed a tendency that psychological flexibility increased in the experiment group compared to the control. This indicates that CMT is a useful tool for preventing prejudice and discrimination and for creating an equal, non-judging and open working climate in organizational contexts. (Less)
