- Abstract
- The purpose of this paper is to find out how parents are affected by the child’s Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). In order to investigate, interviews have been conducted with parents with one or more child diagnosed with ADHD to find out about their general well-being as well as if they are receiving the proper support. The study takes a salutogenic, family oriented perspective and all children involved are diagnosed with the disorder. The results largely confirms that of previous studies which indicate that parents of children with ADHD struggle and often set their own lives aside to care for their child.
