Abstract
This study focused on the relationship between personality, motivation and the participant’s experiences of an educational intervention program. The aim with this study was to examine the correlations between conscientiousness, motivational types, how interventions are experienced and if there are differences between genders regarding these experiences. The data collection was done through an electronic survey, the respondents answered statements regarding conscientiousness from the Five factor model, three types of motivation from the Self Determination Theory and questions regarding how they perceived their attendance of the educational program. The sample included 65 employees from Lunds University who had participated in at least one... (More)

The data collection was done through an electronic survey, the respondents answered statements regarding conscientiousness from the Five factor model, three types of motivation from the Self Determination Theory and questions regarding how they perceived their attendance of the educational program. The sample included 65 employees from Lunds University who had participated in at least one out of two specific leadership training programs. The data was analyzed by testing for correlations between non-normal distributed data and by non-parametric comparisons of means. The results indicated that intrinsic motivation correlated positively with how individuals experience interventions, and that conscientiousness had a positive relationship with identified regulation and external regulation. Another finding was that monetary rewards did not act as the primary factor for motivating employees in a leadership training program. A contribution from the study was that there were differences between individual’s types of motivation which are important to consider when constructing interventions. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
