- Among the most discussed risks of climate change is its impact on the occurrence of natural disasters. Manifold research points towards the social and economic consequences that follow for affected regions in the world. Especially for developing and emerging countries, natural disasters impose a threat endangering the path of sustainable development. This study investigates the impact of natural disasters on income inequality in the case of Oaxaca, a state in the south of Mexico.
