This thesis is evaluating the German development projects in Kenya in the Green Economy
area. The focus is lying on the time period after the Green Economy Strategy and
Implementation plan was introduced from the Kenyan government in 2016. Previous studies
to this topic explored four main possible challenges for this type of projects: legal framework,
absorptive capacity, willingness of the civil society and financial support. These possible
challenges are used to find out whether the situation of the German development projects in
Kenya could be comparable. The thesis is using expert interviews to gain the data and a
