The purpose of this essay is to examine six social workers’ experiences of working with these groups. These social workers all work in different municipalities in Skåne. The study is a qualitative study in which the material was collected via interviews with the social workers. Our analysis shows that the social worker has a large scope of discretion at work but that it is sometimes limited, partly by the participants, partly by the management's guidelines and by the Swedish laws. The social worker is also limited by the framework for which elements should be included during the support group, which in turn can affect the children who participate. (Less)
