- Abstract
- Diarrhoeal disease is the second leading cau-
se of death in children under five years old,
and is responsible for killing around 525 000
children every year.

This master thesis explores the behaviour
around personal hygiene in the public. Why
do many people avoid public bathrooms or
worse skip the required hygiene routine of
handwashing afterwards?
This project aims to investigate how the ex-
perience of the future bathroom could look
like to enhance usability and wellbeing and
thereby hygiene.
