”Det kan godt være mit DNA ikke er der … men jeg er der”: En kvalitativ undersøgelse af hvordan ikke-normative forældre konstrueres som subjekter i mødet med det danske sundhedsvæsen

- Abstract
- This text is a qualitative study based on interviews with gender non normative co-parents who have experiences with the Danish healthcare system in the process of becoming a parent. The study explores how experiences with the healthcare system can be understood as a part of their subjectivation. Through the lens of queer feminism, represented by Judith Butler, it thus critically investigates how subjectivation takes places in fertility treatment, maternity, newborn care and doctoral consultations. Feminist poststructuralist discourse analysis(FPDA) helps putting light upon how the notion of co-parent identity is constructed through binary oppositions. The text explores further how and why certain experiences either create a notion of being recognized or not recognized by the hegemonical discourse heteronormativity and how that contributes to the construction of the subject.
The aim of the study is to show how subjectivation of the co-parent happens trough the experiences with the health care system in order to argue why it is highly important to work norm critically in health care professions. (Less)
