The problem with unclear definitions of terms such as the threshold is that it could lead to misconception or in worse case become a word of platitude, another empty phrase without any meaning at all.
The main purpose of this study is to illustrate and widen the definition of how to understand the threshold concept within the Swedish Armed Forces.
By analyzing and comparing three of the Swedish Armed Forces most important policy-oriented- and doctrine documents, this paper will analyze the threshold concept by using John Gering’s theory of Good Concepts.
The results of this paper shows that the threshold concept is due to the amount of attributes and boundedness connected in the definition of the concept makes the phenomena intuitive unclear and indeterminable in range. (Less)
