The thesis uses a discourse analysis in general, especially discourse psychology, and four theorizing concepts: Europeanization, Othering, Civilizationism and Euroscepticism, to answer the research question. The examined material are speeches, uploaded on the Identity and Democracy group’s YouTube platform. The analysis is divided into three chapters: The national versus European identity, the Others and how they interact and lastly crossroads for a new Europe! The thesis concludes that the identity of the group primarily is portrayed by two central identities - the European and the national identity. These two identities are used in different ways, the European to establish a common group but also to exclude immigrants and Turkey, the national identity associates with the resistance against the elite and the threat towards national sovereignty.
