- Abstract
- This paper aims to explore if theory from the literature on Social Democratic parties can account plausibly for relatively better election results of the Swedish Social Democrats (SAP). With the use of multiple OLS regression it explores whether expansion of municipal labor decommodifying programs lead to more favorable municipal election results for SAP. Labor decommodification is measured through three different indicators and separate tests are done for each respectively. 273-276 municipalities out of 290 are included and, depending on data availability, the separate indicator based tests concern the elections 2006-2018 as well as 2014-2018. The study makes some contributions to the subject of municipal data as well as literature on... (More)
