Abstract
In September of 2018, a total of 261 concerned public servants within the Government Offices issued an internal letter to the chief of Administrative affairs. The letter voiced the concerns of the public servants regarding what would happen to their staff policy, if a known right-wing party would be elected for government that year. The purpose of this thesis has been to identify the different expectations of a public servant that could supposedly be portrayed in a sample of this debate, consisting of three debate articles. The ”pro et contra-list” as an argumentative analysis method was used to oversee the argumentative structures of these debate articles. These structures were then compared to two different theoretical ideals of the public servant, one by Max Weber and the other by Lennart Lundquist. The conclusion of this thesis was that in two of the debate articles, Max Webers ideal public servant was identified, and in the remaining article, Lennart Lundquists ideal public servant was identified.
