The purpose of this study has been to investigate, through a discourse analytic approach, how professionals construct co-morbidity, in the form of abuse and mental illness, in relation to LVM and LPT. "
To be able to carry out our study, we have used qualitative interviews as a method. We conducted a total of eight interviews with three social secretaries, two psychiatrists, two politicians and one councillor.
The conclusions we have reached through the statements of these professionals are that comorbidity in which the individual suffers from mental illness and abuse cannot be uniformly defined. This being because there are different discourses in the different activities. The professionals all talk of comorbidity in the form of abuse and mental illness as a problem that exists, but they do problemize that the legislation does not take these individuals into account and that the individuals therefore often "fall between the chairs" or become "black cats".
