Abstract
This study aims to examine how women, between the ages 18-30, experience the safety during the usage of the dating apps Tinder/Badoo. The study also aims to examine which possible factors that can comprise the experience of safety during the usage. The reason behind this is based on the wide range that this type of dating has gotten over the past several years. Previous studies have mainly been focusing on the obvious disadvantages with using dating apps online. These types of disadvantages have gotten a large spread in media, such as newspapers, TV features and much more. Therefore, it is sociologically pertinent to research a new aspect. Based on the purpose of this study, to examine how women between the ages of 18-30 experience the safety during the usage of the dating apps Tinder/Badoo, the questions of issue are:
1. How do women between the ages of 18-30 experience the safety during the usage of Tinder/Badoo?
2. Which possible factors can compromise the experience of safety during the usage of Tinder/Badoo?

The method used to research these questions is based on four qualitative interviews and a quantitative survey. The results of the study showed that most of the participants felt that their safety was compromised while using Tinder/Badoo. The primary factors for this were the risk of someone pretending to be someone else, as well as the possible unpleasant messages that several of the participants had received. Another factor that affected women's perception of security was the apps features to share where their users are. It was primarily Badoo that the participants considered to be the most problematic regarding location information. (Less)
