Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

Abstract
The purpose of the study has been to describe how both manager directors and employees, in a Swedish company of the technology and installation industry, reasoning about and reflect on the key aspects of "distributed leadership", such as empowerment, internal concept, which includes shared goals, social support and opportunities to speak out and be heard and education. Another purpose has been to describe how manager directors reasoning about a possible changed view of these aspects from having previously been employees until then they are now managers themselves. The study was of a qualitative character and came to include interviews with three managers and three employees, who are working at the company. The interviews were analyzed... (More)

Another purpose has been to describe how manager directors reasoning about a possible changed view of these aspects from having previously been employees until then they are now managers themselves. The study was of a qualitative character and came to include interviews with three managers and three employees, who are working at the company. The interviews were analyzed using a targeted qualitative content analysis. The study's results showed that both manager directors and employees have a clear idea of the guiding principles of distributed leadership. However, in practice, only a few of the principles were actually implemented, while the rest only exists as a theoretical concept. The manager directors' reflection on changes in their own approaches to distributed leadership was about gaining experience about a broader range of responsibilities, when taking over managerial position and creating an unanimous picture of how the organization function on all of the interdependent levels.
