- Abstract
- This is a qualitative study with the subject; intimate partner violence. The study is based on an assessment manual from Socialstyrelsen named Manual för FREDA Standardiserade bedömningsmetoder för socialtjänstens arbete mot våld i nära relationer. The purpose of the FREDA-manual is to investigate and identify violence in intimate relationships and the purpose of this study focus on investigating what role the FREDA-manual have in the work with intimate partner violence. Furthermore, the study examines the possibilities and limitations of the FREDA- manual and it also problematises the gender neutrality of the FREDA-manual. The study’s theoretical framework are based on; Eva Lundgrens analytical and theoretical interpretation model on Våldets normaliseringsprocess och andra våldsförståelser, Michel Foucaults discourse theory focusing on the concept of subject positions and Lucas Gottzén article Kvinnomisshandlaren och maskulinitetens monstruösa framtid. The essay has led to questions about how the violence is handled by the society and how it is portrayed and further, what structural effects it can have when working with intimate partner violence.
