Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to examine which factors that contribute to the creation of a good psychosocial work environment. This has been done by investigation of the correlations between different psychosocial work environment factors in the work environment of social worker students, with a focus on bullying, systematic preventative efforts to improve the work environment and experienced work satisfaction. To meet the aim of the thesis a quantitative method was utilized, using a questionnaire that was sent to social worker students in the city of Lund and campus Helsingborg in Sweden. The psychosocial work environment factors that was examined were: social support from colleagues, social support from manager, bullying, social climate,... (More)

To meet the aim of the thesis a quantitative method was utilized, using a questionnaire that was sent to social worker students in the city of Lund and campus Helsingborg in Sweden. The psychosocial work environment factors that was examined were: social support from colleagues, social support from manager, bullying, social climate, inequality, organisational climate, innovative climate, staff welfare and experienced work satisfaction. The result of the study showed a significant positive correlation between experienced functioning systematic preventative efforts to improve the work environment and a positive psychosocial work environment, except for the factor bullying. The analysis also concluded that the psychosocial work environment factor that had the highest correlation with the experienced work satisfaction of the social worker students was a positive organisational climate. Furthermore, bullying was the factor that turned out to be mostly not significant in the correlation to the other examined psychosocial work environment factors, a result which could be interpreted as that bullying is tied to other factors than those examined in this thesis. Bullying did show a significant correlation to the length of employment when it was divided between those who had worked more, respectively less, than six months and when divided between different forms of employment. (Less)
