- Studier har visat att det kan göras bra bedömningar av trafiksäkerhetstillstånd och dess bidragande faktorer genom att studera konflikterna i trafiken istället för olyckorna. Genom att undersöka hur konflikterna i en trafikplats ser ut kan man få mer data och få den mycket snabbare än om man undersöker olycksdata. Genom att använda nya verktyg till datorer som djupinlärning kan man även lättare ta fram dessa konflikter från filmad trafik. Nästa steg är eventuellt att låta data och program göra analysen, men det är inte helt säkert vilka parametrar som ligger till grund för vad som gör en konflikt mer eller mindre farlig. Denna studie väljer att studera parametrarna som ligger bakom allvarligheten i en konflikt.

Genom att tillfråga experter inom området och hur de bedömer trafiksäkerhet presenterad för dem i videoform ges en bild av dessa parametrar. För att få ett test av dessa parametrar används analys på dessa konflikter med avseende på särskilt några utvalt intressanta indikatorer.
Slutsatsen är att dessa indikatorer fungerar väl men de har ändå vissa svagheter, subjektiv analys behövs i vissa fall och större studier borde göras. (Less) - Abstract
