- The primary aim of this essay is to investigate access for non-state transnational actors to some of the main institutions in the official Nordic co-operation, consisting of the two bodies the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of Ministers. By applying a theoretical framework created by Jonas Tallberg, Thomas Sommerer, Theresa Squatrito and Christer Jönsson, access to the organization is mapped. Access is defined by Tallberg et al. as the “institutional mechanisms whereby TNAs may take part in the policy process of an IO”. A secondary aim is to investigate to what extent three hypotheses introduced by Tallberg et al. are in accordance with the situation in the Nordic co-operation.
