In the second part of the essay ten articles will be closely analysed and discussed through a textual analysis. The choice of words and phrases will be scrutinised to consider how these frames are constructed. This analysis, as well as the analysis in the first part, will
lean heavily on a wide range of t heoretical frameworks including writings on mediatization and frames. The analyses will lead to conclusions about the growing mediatization, the more frequent use of journalistic frames and the portrayal of the two candidates.
Our research questions are:
- How was Donald Trump and Joe Biden portrayed in Dagens Nyheter and
Aftonbladet?
- What differences can be seen in the portrayals of the two candidates?
- What effects of mediatization can be identified in the chosen articles? (Less)
