- The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between economic development and female labor force participation within the theoretical framework of Feminization U for 47 countries over the time period 1991 and 2016, and the effects of economic and socioeconomic factors on female labor force participation. The examination is explored through the employment of fixed effects model, and the basis for the statistical analysis is pooled panel data on the countries for the given time period. The data is retrieved from ILOSTAT and World Bank Indicators. The results suggest that the prevalence of a U-shaped relationship depends on the indicator used for economic development.
