Multipath Modelling for 60 GHz Short Range Radar
(2021) In Bachelor's Theses in Mathematical Sciences MASK11 20202Mathematical Statistics
- Abstract (Swedish)
- If radar surveillance systems are installed near a wall, their radiation is reflected not only from moving objects but also from the wall. In this way, nonexisting socalled ghost targets can lead to false detections. This thesis exploits such ghost detections to infer the position and extension
of a wall next to a radar sensor. This is done by geometric equations only and proves especially successful outdoors. With this knowledge, it will be possible to distinguish ghost targets from real ones and even use them for improved object detection.
