As will show, farmers suffer mentally from the large amount of bureaucracy that is accompanied when applying for subsidies, along with subsequent audits. Moreover, they suffer from the current uneven market conditions where farmers are not paid enough.... (More)

As will show, farmers suffer mentally from the large amount of bureaucracy that is accompanied when applying for subsidies, along with subsequent audits. Moreover, they suffer from the current uneven market conditions where farmers are not paid enough. Using a theoretical framework regarding policy-making, this thesis argues that EU’s politics are marginalizing local knowledge and acts to transform farmer’s subjects in to multifunctional entrepreneurs regardless of how they manage their farm.
