The study is based on ten semi-structured interviews with professionals that works in the public sector and non-profit sector. The theoretical frameworks of this study are Hannah Arendt’s theory “the right to have rights” and T H Marshall’s (social) citizenship theory. The result of this study shows that undocumented victims need support, but encounter obstacles that limit their right to gain support. The support by the public sector is linked to cooperate with law enforcement authorities. The result also shows that the right to have rights are established if the victim has a residence permit. Without a residence permit – the support becomes limited. In a case of limited support, a final alternative emerges: a return to the country of origin. The final discussion in this study argues that there is a conditional and time-limited support for undocumented victims of trafficking for sexual purposes. (Less)
