I mitt examensarbete har jag arbetat med ett projekt i kommunen där jag bor, nämligen i Svedala. Här har det länge funnits en önskan om en attraktiv simhall från invånarnas sida, men ännu finns det ingen i kommunen. Därför tar jag chansen - på eget initiativ av mig som fristående arkitektstudent - att i mitt examensarbete gestalta ett hållbart badhus åt Svedalas invånare.

Arbetet är upplagt på så sätt att den gestaltande delen grundar sig i ett teoretiskt underlag. Därför tar jag chansen - på eget initiativ av mig som fristående arkitektstudent - att i mitt examensarbete gestalta ett hållbart badhus åt Svedalas invånare.

Arbetet är upplagt på så sätt att den gestaltande delen grundar sig i ett teoretiskt underlag. Första halvan av arbetet består därför av teori, medan den andra halvan utgör den gestaltande delen, som är designen i sig själv. I den teoretiska delen ingår bland annat avsnitt om hållbarhetsaspekter, tekniska aspekter i en simhall, studier av intressanta simhallar, samt en enkät och intervjuer med barn i olika åldrar. I denna del finns också en ”designguide för simhallar”, som sammanställts utifrån ett antal intervjuer med kunniga och lokala personer verksamma inom området. I den gestaltande processen utförs analyser på olika nivåer av två lämpliga platser, för att komma fram till platsen för projektet. Slutligen presenteras här också det föreslagna badhuset med hjälp av arkitektens olika verktyg, såsom bland annat analytiska diagram, situationsplan, planritningar, sektioner, fasadritningar och 3D perspektiv.

För att begränsa miljöpåverkan och skapa en långsiktig resurshållning är det angeläget att bygga hållbart. Den röda tråden genom arbetet är just fokuset på hållbarhet, både ur ett ekologiskt och ekonomiskt perspektiv, men också ur ett socialt perspektiv. Syftet med arbetet är att skapa en bild av hur en hållbar simhall skulle kunna se ut i Svedala, både på en byggnads- och stadsnivå. Resultatet av denna studie kommer att bidra till att öka kunskapen om hur arkitekter kan utforma en hållbar simhall i Svedala. Det slutliga förslaget är designat för den valda platsen, men metoderna som använts i projektet kan även appliceras i andra kommuner i Sverige.

In my degree project, I have worked on a project with a sustainable swimming hall in the municipality of Svedala, where I live. Still, there is no swimming hall in the whole municipality, altough there has been an increased desire to create an attractive one that considers the needs of the residents. In my degree project, I have worked on a project with a sustainable swimming hall in the municipality of Svedala, where I live. The first half of the work, therefore, consists of theoretical imput, whereas the second half consists of a creative part, which is the design itself. The theoretical part includes sections on sustainability aspects, technical aspects in a swimming hall, studies of interesting swimming halls, as well as a questionnaire and interviews with children of different ages. In this part, there is also a “Design Guide for Swimming Halls”, which was compiled based on a number of interviews with different local actors in the area. Throughout the design process, different levels of analyzes are spatially conducted for two different locations, aiming to choose an appropriate location for the project. Finally, the proposed project (as a design product) is presented and communicated as architectural language including, for example, analytical diagrams, site plan, floor plans, sections, façades and 3D perspectives.

To limit the environmental impact and create a long-term resource management, we need to build sustainably. Throughout the project, the focus was put on ”sustainability” - both from ecological and economic perspectives, but also from a social perspective. The purpose of the work is to create an image of how a sustainable swimming hall can look like in Svedala, both at a building and city level. The results of this study will contribute to increase knowledge of how architects can design a sustainable swimming hall in Svedala. Although the final product is only designed for the selected location in Svedala, the methods used in this project can be applied in other municipalities in Sweden.
