Abstract
This master’s thesis examines the lived experiences of female football supporters in Malmö. The purpose is to investigate how female supporters experience their role as both supporter and female and their space in the stands. Through the method semi-structed interviews, ten female supporters organized in Malmösystrar are heard. A feminist analysis is carried out based on a theoretical framework of the concepts belonging and a way of life, the female role through Judith Butler’s understanding of gender as performative and Simone de Beauvoir’s understanding of woman as “the other”, and Beverley Skeggs’ understanding of gender as a social position through space, femininity as capital and feminism as tactic.
