(2022) PSYK11 20221Department of Psychology
- Abstract
- The current study aimed to examine whether women in Sweden who had been in an intimate partner violence (IPV) relationship reached posttraumatic growth (PTG), and if the frequency and level of reaching PTG differed for women who had received formal help compared to women who had not received formal help. The study also examined whether there was a difference in level of PTG depending on which type of formal help the women had received. The data was collected through a digital self-report survey. A total of 166 women took part in the study. The results showed that 69.3% (n = 115) reached a moderate degree of PTG or higher and that there was a difference in PTG between those women who had received formal help and those who had not received... On the other hand, there was no difference in PTG depending on which type of formal help the women had received. The majority of the women in the present study who had lived in an IPV- relationship reached a moderate degree of PTG or higher. Those who had received formal help reached PTG to a greater extent and a higher level than those who had not received formal help, and three types of formal help led to PTG to a similar level. Studies within the research area are important, and further research is necessary to develop and broaden the area. (Less)
- Abstract (Swedish)
I studien deltog totalt 166 kvinnor. (More)

(Less)
