Abstract
The aim of this study is to look into in what ways the creators on the site OnlyFans can be perceived as either victims or their own agents. This will be done by looking at it from different perspectives such as economy, digitalization and self image. There are four main sources that have been used for our study. These are two dissertations, one documentary from SVT and an interview with a school counselor. Our research questions are as follows: From our sources, how are the creators perceived as victims on onlyfans? From our sources, how are the creators seen as agents on Onlyfans? How can the position of the creators between agent and victim be understood? The method we have used is a qualitative method, and more specifically a document... (More)

How can the position of the creators between agent and victim be understood? The method we have used is a qualitative method, and more specifically a document analysis. This paper analyzes the different stages of society as stated by Urie Bronfenbrenner, micro, meso and macro. The paper will also discuss this question with two theories, the dramaturgical analysis by Erving Goffman and the symbolical interactionism by George Herbert Mead. The results of the study is that creators on Onlyfans can be seen as agents because of the overwhelming success by some of the creators already on the plattform. They can become entrepreneurs. But, as our study shows, a lot of the time these women get pressured by their customers to make more and more intimate material. We can see how this quickly turns these young women from agents to victims. (Less)
