The study was conducted with a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with four social workers at the NGO. The results show that children live in poverty and there are several factors on different levels that can affect their life situation. Furthermore the findings show that there are two main ways in which children can get in contact with NGO:s; through people that they already trust and through social workers’ tours in the city. According to the social workers these children are ignored and mistreated by other members in the society. Streetchildren may express low self esteem, aggressivity and suffer from trust issues.
