- Abstract
- The following essay aspires to implement securitization and desecuritization theory by the use of discourse analysis on a question related to security politics. This will be done by analyzing speech expressed by the Swedish Social Democratic party regarding security politics during three different years: 1997, 2014 and 2022. The essay will then further analyze how they could motivate a positive or negative position regarding a membership in NATO through their discourse, with regard to the Social democratic party as the main actor.
