- This thesis examines the theory of headwinds by Robert J Gordon related to Sweden’s economic growth since the 1970s. The quantitative analysis is conducted on data from several sources describing educational attainment in Sweden and the development of income inequality since the 1970s. The main conclusion of this thesis is that Gordon’s theory about headwinds in the USA partly shows similarities with the Swedish... (More)

The quantitative analysis is conducted on data from several sources describing educational attainment in Sweden and the development of income inequality since the 1970s. The main conclusion of this thesis is that Gordon’s theory about headwinds in the USA partly shows similarities with the Swedish context. There were almost no similarities in the development of educational attainment, though income inequality had very similar trends over time for both the USA and Sweden. (Less)
